What Do You Get?

With DocuFreezer, you can convert your files to:

PDF, Portable Document Format (.pdf), created by Adobe Systems Inc., is one of the most universal file formats on the Internet. It is used to create and present documents across multiple devices, systems, and platforms. With its ability to preserve data in its original form, PDF ensures that the file doesn't lose its visual quality after being sent to another person. This media container is very widespread since PDF files can be opened on most devices and different operating systems. PDFs are used to exchange a wide range of data which can be contained within a single file: texts, images, spreadsheets, diagrams, email messages and more.
TXT, Plain text (.txt, .text) file is a standard text document which contains basic text with minimum formatting. It is recognized by any text editor or word processing program and is also supported by most other types of software. *.txt files are used for storing data in plain text without special formatting, however, they have basic fonts and font styles. This format is usually used to write notes, instructions, pieces of code and other documents in a basic way.
JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), named after The Joint Photographic Experts Group who invented it, is a popular type of image which is usually stored in the JFIF (JPEG File Interchange Format) file format. JPEG applies certain compression to images, which can lead to a significant reduction in file size – consuming less space on your hard drive compared to most other image types. Different levels of compression can be applied during file conversion to JPEG, and they affect the visual quality of the resulting file. Thanks to their small size, JPG files are perfect for publishing photos and images online.
PNG, Portable Graphics Format (.png) is one of the most popular uncompressed raster image formats out there, which is usually a small type file that maintains good quality. It supports a wide range of colors and different degrees of transparency. PNGs are generally larger than GIFs or JPEGs but have a few pros compared to other image types, such as the ability to display transparent backgrounds. They are perfect for graphics like logos, charts, illustrations, and infographics.
TIFF, Tagged Image File Format (.tiff, .tif) is one of the most common graphic image formats which can store multiple layered images under a single file and can handle color depths ranging from 1-bit to 24-bit. TIFF files can be lossy or lossless. It depends on the compression algorithms applied, such as LZW compression method. This flexible image format is commonly used in scanning, faxing, publishing, printing, photography, and various imaging applications.
BMP, short for Bitmap, is a popular file format used for storing digital images. It is a raster graphics format that represents images as a grid of pixels, with each pixel containing information about its color and position. BMP files are uncompressed and store color data for each pixel in the image. This means that BMP files are usually much larger in size compared to other image file formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF.

What Do We Convert?

DocuFreezer converts most of the supported file types only by its own internal processing core. In other words, you don't need any additional software. However, to convert certain types of files, DocuFreezer will need additional software. Since you already have these documents, it is likely that you already have the appropriate application installed. Please refer to the “Required software” column to find out exactly which software you will need for each file type.

CSV

Typically created in Excel, Comma Separated Values (CSV) file is a plain text file that contains a list of data. These files are often used for exchanging data between different software. CSV files can be opened in Microsoft Excel and used, for example, to store customer or contacts databases.

EMLX

Although DocuFreezer is a program for Windows, it can convert Apple Mail EMLX email messages in bulk. EMLX is Apple's proprietary single-message-per-file format used to store email files typically created by Apple/Mac Mail.

EPUB

EPUB (short for Electronic Publication) is a free and open e-book standard file format that is commonly used in digital publishing. It is designed to work on multiple devices and platforms, including smartphones, tablets, and e-readers.

HEIC & HEIF (High Efficiency Image File Format)

DocuFreezer makes it easy to batch convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPEG, PNG, TIFF, or PDF format.

Please note that OS Windows 10 (or newer) operating system is required. You must also install HEIF Image Extensions and HEVC Video Extensions from the Microsoft Store to let DocuFreezer process these files. Learn more →

Originally developed by MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group), HEIF (.heif, .heic) is an image container format that Apple has adopted in iOS 11. It is now used as a default format for picture taking on their devices. They include still images and image sequences ("live photos"). Considering that JPEG format is rather "old" and Apple devices take photos in HEIF format by default, this relatively new format is gaining popularity. However, it's still not easy to open them on most devices, and that's when DocuFreezer comes to help.

ICS

DocuFreezer can batch convert Outlook iCalendar ICS files. An ICS file is an iCalendar file, which is a plain text file containing calendar event details like description, beginning and ending times, location, etc. To let DocuFreezer process these files, you must have Microsoft Outlook installed.

MHT (MHTML)

MHT is a web page archive file format. Most web pages viewed in a web browser contain only HTML, and pictures and other media files (animation, audio, video, etc.) are stored in different directories on a server. Since all files are collected in one MHTML file, MHT files are usually used for web archive pages.

PDF Portfolio

A PDF Portfolio contains several files assembled into an integrated PDF. Within a PDF Portfolio, there can be a wide range of file types created in different applications: text documents, email messages, spreadsheets, CAD drawings, PowerPoint presentations, and more. With DocuFreezer, you can convert a PDF portfolio to a single PDF.

VCF (vCard)

vCards are usually .vcf files known as "electronic business cards" that contain the contact information of a person. They are used to share contacts via Outlook or other email programs. A VCF file can be saved by adding all the information directly to Outlook contacts. You can also save an Outlook contact as a VCF file, for example, for mass mailing or to make it available for download. When sending a vCard, its VCF file is sent along with the message as an attachment.

XPS, OXPS

XPS file format was created by Microsoft as a solution for sharing and archiving documents. XPS was introduced in Windows Vista as an alternative to Adobe PDF format. Microsoft Office 2007 and all newer versions of this software contain the ability to export documents to XPS.
